"My line is designed to be comfortable, versatile and fashionable. It marries vibrant colours and playful prints, and fits a beautiful mixture of body types and personalities. It's a fantastic outlet for self-expression."
Melanie Jacqueline Couch was born and raised on the west coast of Newfoundland. Growing up, she loved to wear clothing fashioned by her mother and developed a passion for creating her own clothing.
While studying to become a teacher, Melanie continued to sew. After spending three years as an educator and countless hours in front of her sewing machine, Melanie decided to pursue her passion for fashion and moved to St. John's. There she began working in costume design at the Arts and Culture Centre while starting to develop her own clothing line. Within two years Melanie opened the doors of Melanie Jacqueline Custom Clothing Design in downtown St. John's. She has taken part in several fashion shows in the city, sold her creations in a west coast boutique, and has designed and made the server uniforms for Raymond's Restaurant.
Melanie creates one of a kind pieces to be sold off the rack as well as custom garments for clients. She looks forward to welcoming you at her studio.
