Michelle Chaulk has been a professional jeweller since 1996.
"You can't compare jewellery to any other art form. There is something very important about being able to wear a piece of art. It's like wearing your heart on your sleeve or on your finger or perhaps dangling from an ear. It is on your person. It's a piece that speaks to you and speaks of you. "
In 2006 Michelle launched her own line of handmade jewellery. Inspired by the rhythmic lines and geometric shapes of Art Deco, Chaulk has created rings, brooches, earings, pendants and bracelets with timeless appeal. Her designs have well defined lines that underscore the purity and beauty of the materials she selects. Chaulk combines semi precious stones – like green aventurines, deep wine garnets and golden amber – with distinctive handmade, sterling silver settings. The result is jewellery that is deceptively simple yet elegant. Chaulk is intrigued with finding new ways to set stones.
