A sampling of products:
"All my creations embody a sense of fun. I use wild colours, whimsical details and a sense of liveliness while trying to imbue each piece with its own character."
In her home studio in downtown St. John's, Janet creates paper mache lamps, dolls, cat ornaments, wall pieces and mummers. All her works incorporate recycled materials. She takes her inspiration from popular culture, iconic imagery and the horrible cats she lives with. "Pretty much anything I see can spark an idea, sometimes unexpectedly, and that can result in some pretty interesting pieces." she says.
All of Janet Peter's papier maché creations are easy to care for and can be cleaned with a dry cloth. They are durable and should be displayed or stored in a dry place. Many are suitable for Christmas ornaments and can be displayed for year-round smiles.
