"Most of what we do seems to be about memories – take the birds for example. We enjoy watching and feeding birds in our garden and enjoy having reminders of how beautiful they are when they are not here. I think that's true for our customers, too." Fred and Vera Warren
From their home-based business on the "water side of the road" in Chapel Arm, Newfoundland, Fred and Vera Warren make stained glass ornaments for our windows, Christmas trees and gifts. Fred does most of the handwork: cutting and grinding glass, foiling and careful assembly while Vera focuses on design and paperwork of the business. What started out as a hobby has grown into a business with a product line of more than 150 designs. Crafts in Glass is best known for its sun-catchers that are frequently based on the flora and fauna found in Newfoundland and popular everywhere: bold blue jays, cheeky chickadees, delicate humming birds and sweet berries. They also specialize in Newfoundland and Labrador images: puffins, whales, dolphins, pitcher plants, row houses and boats. They welcome visitors to their studio on the Osprey Trail off the Trans Canada Highway.
